The vertebrae are in fantastic condition connected to each other as they would have been in life with full processes all on the original rock in the original position they were found on! The only work done, aside from exposing the bones was a bit of superglue dribbled into some cracks for stability. The fossil measures about 12.5 inches (31.75 cm)! The other side of the piece is in a plaster jacket for overall stability!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eMosasaurs are huge carnivorous marine reptiles that lived alongside dinosaurs from 101 to 66 million years ago. Some approached 60 feet (18 meters) in length! They aren't dinosaurs but are close relatives of snakes and lizards. The exact species of Mosasaur these tail vertebrae came from is difficult to say.
