This is a GORGEOUS TOP QUALITY tooth from the infamous American three horned dinosaur Triceratops from the equally infamous Hell Creek Formation in Powder River County, Montana, USA! These massive herbivores, nearly 30 feet long and ten tons, roamed North America in large herds 65 million years ago. They fed on tough vegetation, chomping off morsels with their beaks and grinding it down with their teeth. Once a tooth was worn down, they would spit it out and grow a new one, not unlike sharks. This is NOT one of those spit teeth. This is a MUCH rarer unerupted tooth, a tooth that was never used! The tooth is very three dimensional with a fantastic tip and a nearly complete root! A rare sight on unerupted teeth which are already very hard to find! The tooth is also very large for a Triceratops tooth! It measures a whopping 1.35 inches (3.43 cm) on its longest side and .6985 inches (1.77 cm) wide! Makes a magnificent addition to any fossil collection, this is truly among the highest quality of fossils of one of the most iconic prehistoric animals of all time!
