This Is a BEAUTIFUL Huge Tyrannosaur tooth from either Daspletosaurus or Gorgosaurus from the Judith River Formation in Hill County, Montana, USA! The tooth has incredible serrations front and back, a good tip, and a partial root! It has multiple repaired breaks, having been found in multiple pieces and put back together, but it isn't restored in anyway! It measures 2.33 inches (5.92 cm) slant length and comes in a double sided clear display case for easy transport and display!
These two Tyrannosaurs lived together in North America from 79.5 -74 million years ago. They looked very similar to T-rex, just smaller, up to 30 feet (9 meters) in length and 2.5 tons! About ten million years of evolution would QUINTOUPLE the size as one of them evolved into T-Rex! Which one is hard to say. The teeth from Gorgosaurus and Daspletosaurus are indistinguishable so assigning this specimen to on or the other is impossible creating a baffling puzzle that continues to perplex paleontologists to this day! A puzzle not helped by the rarity of these teeth. Although smaller, teeth from these dinosaurs are MUCH rarer than Rex teeth! What can be said is that this specimen is from an important stepping stone in the history of THE most iconic of prehistoric species!!
