This is a BEAUTIFUL Super Rare Claw from the infamous American Dome Headed dinosaur Pachycephalosaurus from the Lance Formation in Lance Creek, Wyoming, USA! These strange herbivores, nearly 15 feet long and one thousand pounds, roamed North America from 70 to 65 million years ago. They fed on soft leaves, seeds, and fruit, slicing them up with their (surprisingly) small leaf-shaped serrated teeth. Their most striking feature being the large dome on their skull, up to 9 inches thick! The exact purpose of this dome has been debated for decades. The most well know theory is that the animals used their domes in "headbutting contests" similar to modern bighorn sheep. The domes were very ornate, being surrounded by boney knobs and spikes! The claw measures 1.414 inches (3.59 mm) with a FANTASTIC tip and zero repair or restoration! It comes in double sided clear display case for easy transport and display!

Pachycephalosaurus claws are among the most sought after of dinosaur fossils and also among the most misidentified usually being confused with the claws of another (substantially less valuable) small herbivorous dinosaur Thescelosaurus. The way to differentiate the two is that Pachy claws have a distinct bend or twist in the tip. A tip that is often missing or damaged beyond recognition, but not on this one!
