This is a HUGE Beautiful Fossil Megalodon Shark Tooth from Offshore of the southeast U.S.! Megalodon (Carcharocles megalodon) was the largest known species of shark to have ever lived. It grew to over 60 feet (18 meters) in length and fed primarily on large marine mammals including whales, dolphins, seals, manatees, and even the occasional Mammoth out for a swim. The tooth is in fantastic condition with a complete root, beautiful enamel, ZERO repair or restoration, and terrific serrations even on the tip! Speaking of the tip, it shows a very prominent pathology along the blade near the tip in the form of warping along the edge! A unique and rare feature on an already beautiful tooth! There is a noticeable crack in one corner, however the crack never broke and has never needed or been repaired! A great addition to any fossil collection, the tooth measures 4.76 inches (12.09 cm) along its longest edge and 3.8365 inches (9.745 cm) wide!
A fantastic piece from one of the largest and most terrifying predators to ever live!
