Collection: Unusual Theropods
Theropods, more often know as "carnivorous dinosaurs", are the group of dinosaurs that are almost always bipedal with three large toes on their hind leg and a smaller backward facing digit. This incredibly diverse group of dinosaurs has many distinct families such as Spinosaurs like Spinosaurus and Suchomimus, Raptors like Velociraptor, Carnosaurs like Allosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus, and of course Tyrannosaurus like Nanotyrannus and the infamous T-Rex! It is also the only group of dinosaurs that didn't go extinct, as all birds are classified as Theropod dinosaurs! Along side these more famous groups are a wide variety of little known and sometimes outright strange dinosaurs including numerous small carnivorous dinosaurs similar to but not true raptors, the ostrich like Ornithomimids, the utterly bizarre Therizinosaurs, and many others!
