This is a HUGE Beautiful Fossil Megalodon Shark Tooth from offshore North Carolina U.S.! Megalodon (Carcharocles megalodon) was the largest known species of shark to have ever lived. It grew to over 60 feet (18 meters) in length and fed primarily on large marine mammals including whales, dolphins, seals, manatees, and even the occasional Mammoth out for a swim. A great addition to any fossil collection or gift for aspiring paleontologists, the tooth measures 5.89 inches (14.96 cm) along its longest edge and 4.43 inches (11.25 cm) wide with great serrations and no repair, restoration, or alteration! The tooth also has a pathology! The blade is bent back, most likely from an injury while the tooth was forming. A unique and rare feature on an already magnificent tooth!
