This is a beautiful, HUGE. authentic Mosasaur tooth from Prognathodon currii from the late Cretaceous of Morocco! The tooth measures 2.17 inches (5.51 cm) with a partial root and no repair or restoration! It comes in a double sided clear display case with a stand for easy transport and display!
Mosasaurs are huge carnivorous marine reptiles that lived alongside dinosaurs from 101 to 66 million years ago. Some approached 60 feet (18 meters) in length! They aren't dinosaurs but are close relatives of snakes and lizards. Prognathodon currii was one of the largest known Mosasaurs reaching lengths of nearly forty feet! It fed on prey with hard shells like sea turtles and ammonites, crushing their shells with it's blunt teeth!
Makes a great gift for science enthusiasts, a great teaching aide, or addition to any fossil collection!
