This is a HUGE tooth from the the giant African sail-back Spinosaur Dinosaur from the middle Cretaceous of the Kem Kem Beds of Morocco! Spinosaurus was one of the largest and most bizarre carnivores to ever live on earth! Unlike other carnivorous dinosaurs, Spinosaurus walked on all fours with short hind legs and long arms! Stanger still was its crocodile like snout and large sail on its back for which its named. It was semi-aquatic, living in rivers like crocodiles and feeding on large fish. It grew to lengths of over 50 feet, longer than the infamous T-rex! The tooth measures a whopping 3.203 x .961 x .8385 inches (8.14 x 2.44 x 2.13 cm) with a large partial root! It has a couple repaired breaks, but it isn't a composite or restored unlike the overwhelming majority of Spinosaur teeth this size. It comes in a large clear double sided display case with a stand for easy transport and a beautiful display!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON SPINOSAURUS: Traditionally all Moroccan Spinosaurus material has been labeled as Spinosaurus aegyptiacus, however recent discoveries have shown that there might have been several Spinosaurus type dinosaurs. There also might not have been and the new specimens are just showing individual variation. In light of this I will be labeling my Spinosaurus material as "Spinosaur" to cover all bases.
