Now this is something special.
This is a GORGEOUS Top Quality tooth from one of the rarest dinosaurs in the world, Suchomimus tenerensis, from the Elrhaz formation of the Cretaceous of Gadoufaoua, Tenere Desert of Niger! The tooth is in fantastic condition with a partial root and zero repair or restoration! The tooth measures about 1.8235 inches (4.63 cm) along it's longest edge and .6445 x .4675 inches (1.64 x 1.19 cm) at its base! It comes in a labeled 6 x 5 x .75 inch Riker Mount for easy transport and a beautiful display!
The direct ancestor to the much more well known Spinosaurus, Suchomimus was a large carnivorous dinosaur with a long crocodile like snout and a short sail on its back. It would have looked very similar to the Spinosaurus in Jurassic Park 3, much more so than Spinosaurus itself, with long muscular hind legs and arms with huge claws! Remains of Suchomimus are sparse, only one partial skeleton and isolated teeth and bones have been found. The partial skeleton that was found was a beast, estimated to be between 31 and 36 feet in length and about 3 to 6 tons! Even more spectacular, that monster was possibly a juvenile!
I cannot stress enough how rare these are! A great opportunity to own a truly rare piece of paleontology and dinosaur science!
